1 year check-up!

On Monday Mae went to her 1-yr check up! She is now 28 &1/2 in long and 17.4 lbs. She is pretty small (about the 5th%) but the doctor said she is healthy, happy and there's no need to worry! He took one look at those thighs and said she is just fine, but will probably just be petite! She had to get her shots (bummer), but toughed it out and got a new book and a sucker out of it!!! We are just hoping she gains a few pounds before #2 gets here so Mae can move on up into her big girl carseat and baby sister can use hers! My baby is growing up!!!

Pool fun!

This past weekend while Frankie was away on business, my mom was able to come visit us in Dinoland! As part of a belated birthday present (like she needed anything) Grandma got Mae a swimming pool! Since the weather was so nice, we decided to take full advantage and test out the pool! At first Mae wasn't so sure about the whole thing, but then she LOVED it!!!

Mmmm...that tastes good!....
Maybe I'll try drinking it... (yes that is what she is doing, not drowning!)

I love that pose with her feet under her butt

If that isn't the picture of contentment....
And now she is DONE!!!

Nap time...

This is how we do it here! Nevermind the partially opened eyes--she is OUT--and a little creepy!!!!

Birthday Girl!!!

Well, I am finally getting around to posting some pictures of Mae's BIG celebration we had for her 1st birthday (k, well it wasn't really that big) and her actual b-day! We had her party at a park in Kaysville and had sooo many WONDERFUL family and friends show up! At first Mae was a little confused at all the people there watching her (and the get-up we dressed her in), but soon she warmed right up and ripped right into those presents---she made a killing...and doesn't need ANY of it!!! Thanks everyone!!!! We have the BEST family and friends...and I mean that!

The cake Gpa Frankie made for Mae---almost as cute as the real thing! When we first put her in front of it, she was a little shy (heck, she was sitting there almost naked for the whole world to see) but once she tasted the frosting, she warmed right up and in true Coonradt-form DUG in!!! She LOVED it!!! She was a sticky MESS by the end of it and made sure her mom was too!!!

Giving the cake kisses...I told you she LOVED it!!!

My super-rific friends!!! Thanks so much for coming you guys!!! I ADORE YOU!!!

After the party, some of our family all headed down to the zoo, hey we had to make a DAY of it! On the way down to good ol' SLC, Mae was definitely feeling the effects of her sugar rush!!! We don't give Mae sugar very often at all and she was flying high from the record amount she had just ingested!!! I don't have any pictures of this, I thought about it too late, but she was a MAD woman in the car! Squealing and squawking and laughing the WHOLE way...She definitely kept us entertained! When we got to the zoo, we didn't really know what to expect from Mae. I thought she'd probably look around for a minute, but lose interest and take a nap in her stroller not long after we got there! Well, she was MESMERIZED by all the animals! She wouldn't stay in her stroller she was sooo excited!!!! And let me tell you, she is WAY to heavy to carry around for 2+ hours, so we all had to take turns carrying the birthday girl!!! She kept gasping and those big eyes got bigger at every animal we went to see!....Her favorite were the monkeys (big surprise) and luckily, they were in no short supply at the Hogle! She kept reaching out trying to touch everything...it was soooo cute!

Finally after being at the zoo for about 2&1/2 hours and after we had seen EVERYTHING, Mae finally gave in and crashed!!! We had a GREAT day with our little birthday girl! Thanks everyone!!!

On her actual birthday, Mae woke up with a fever and a cold...bummer, especially on her birthday! We had a very chill evening where she opened the few presents we had gotten her. You can tell from the pics she doesn't feel very good, but she was a good sport for her mom and dad!

We LOVE you Mae-Mae!!! Happy 1st little monkey-girl!!!

1 year ago today...

At 3:02am exactly ONE year ago our little bubba-girl was born! I cannot believe my baby is 1 year old today!!! Everyone always says it goes by too fast, and believe me, it really does! I feel like we just got her home from the hospital for good and now here she is 1 year-old! As much fun as it is watching her grow, it also makes me a little sad because it has just all gone by sooooo fast! It makes me wish I would've spent just a few more minutes every day loving on her because now that she is mobile we don't get a lot of snuggle time, BUT I have to say she is just soooo much fun! Everyday she is learning something new. She now says "Momma" (usually only when she's sad), "Da-da" (I hear that ALL day long), Lelly (Lenny-our dog), Nana (gma) and gabba (for Yo Gabba Gabba, her favorite and world's MOST annoying show!). If we can convince her to cooperate she can tell us what the ducky says "quack, quack", what a bear says "Grrr...." and what Lenny says "Woof, woof." She waves hello and bye-bye, blows kisses, plays peek-a-book, patty-cake, the itsy bitsy spider , gives the BEST kisses and eskimos, and is a speed-crawler! She hasn't started walking on her own yet, but I know that as soon as she decides she's ready she'll just take off across the room! I always thought I'd know what it would feel like to be a mother and let me just tell you---I had NO idea! Little did we know how much our lives would change-- for the better-- because of this little girl! We are better people because of what she's done to us and we just LOVE her soooooo much!!! I wake up everyday SOOOOO grateful for the blessing that she has been in our lives! Here are some early pics of our baby girl! Wow-has she changed!!! Sorry for the entourage of pictures, but I am a proud momma and got stuck in my plast from the past!!!
