Mae and her "Monkey-Doodles" (yes that is what we call them)

SO after months of deliberation, we finally bit the bullet and forked out the big bucks to get Mae a couple extra monkeys (as I was worried the first one would not last much longer). Here she is in her swing after getting so horribly upset (not that she would do that), that only TWO monkeys would calm her down. Once we gave both of them to her, she settled right into her nap...but look at the relief on that child's face clutching those BELOVED creatures!

Just call me "Fertile Mertle..."

Ok, so in reference to the previous post...yes big sisters do ROCK and yes, Mae will be one come 9/14/09... So that makes me just over two months along. I was going to wait a bit to make the big announcement to everyone, but Coby pasted the pic of Mae on his facebook, so I figured it was as good as out of the bag now. I'm sure your suprisedness (ok, so I might have just made up that word) is nothing compared to the SHOCK me and Coby experienced when we found out (as this was a VERY unplanned thing) and once the initial JOLT set in, we are very excited to welcome this new little one into our family!

When we went into the doctor, we were in for an even bigger surprise. After a 30 second ultrasound (seriously) my doctor showed us the baby and yolk sac, as well as a SECOND yolk sac. He said that we had originally had twins, but he could not see the other baby so we had probably (do I really want to hear probably right now? I don't think so!) lost one. It is called "Vanishing Twin Syndrome" where for some reason one baby doesn't make it and is reabsored. And that was it...No rescheduled ultrasound to make sure, no nothing...he sent us on our merry way. Well, after a couple days full of a whirlwind of emotions, thanks to my friends at radiology for squeezing me in, a second ultrasound confirmed that we had really lost one baby. I have had A LOT of mixed emotions about the whole thing, excitement over a new baby, a little bit of relief (if I truly am honest with myself), but also sadness over the loss of one of our babies. I just have to trust that things happen the way they are supposed to and be grateful and thankful that we have one healthy baby on the way. Just thought you'd like to take a look at the CRAZY ultrasound and our little bean...(I labeled it for you because those things are IMPOSSIBLE to read!)
Don't you think from the last post that Mae just looks SOOOO excited to be a big sister! She will be the best one EVER!!!

Just Chillin' with the JAZZ!!!

So I know I haven't posted anything in a while...I haven't been neglecting you, there just has been NOTHING going on...But I promise you this post will make up for all the lack thereof! As most of you know, we are "TRUE BLUE" Jazz fans and love those boys! Well, this past Tuesday the 27th (by the way, Happy Birthday Joshy Bug!) me, Coby, Ash and Homie (Coby's sis and her husband just in case you didn't know...and no, his real name is not HOMIE) were all able to go to the JAZZ game and participate in what's called the "BENCHWARMERS" where you get to hang out in the players bench (or right by them if the players are sitting in them) while they warm up and get autographs, pictures and play nice with the JAZZ!!! And boy, let me tell you--- WE HAD A GREAT TIME!!! They only way it would have been better is if they would have won! BUMMER!

Me and Ash just hanging out with Millsap! We look gastly pale next to these boys!

And oh, who could this be....Don't you worry...It's just KYLE FREAKIN' KORVER!!!! I totally felt like a 12 year-old girl all giddy, but I just couldn't help myself. I know I have a goofy smile, but apparently this is my excited smile...you'll see it later on also! Kyle wanted me and Ash to hang out some more with him, but the game was getting ready to start and we were with our husbands and all, so we had to pass. He didn't say the words exactly, but we knew what he meant....Man, he looked pretty from down there! And let me just explain how big this boy is to you...We are standing on a VERY tall bench and don't even come up to his shoulders...I knew he was tall, but he is one BIG (and sexy) boy! k, I will move on from Kyle now...
Coby and a little someone he likes to call "The Dark Knight..." Coby had the greatest time chattin' it up with all his boys...Nevermind he looked sickly pale...

D Will....He was pretty serious getting ready for the big game and all so we didn't really interact with him much.

Coby and Ronnie P...yes, he is making a funny face (big surprise)! Again, notice the paleness...he is like my very own Edward! Coby and Ronnie B....Coby was in HEAVEN!!!

Just look at Coby's face...he is soooo happy! I can't tell who loves him more, me or my husband...He will admit he has a man-crush on Kyle. We think he looks like Kyle's 10 year-old little brother in this pic...

Kosta and Coby (eyes shut of course), one of our favorites that night...he is one FUNNY kid!

Yep, there's the face again....this was one of my first autographs that night from Fesenko...I got pretty much all of them on my shirt! YAY!!!

I also got to be what's call the "ITEM OF THE NIGHT" where they film you in the T-shirt or whatever that they are promoting that night and put it on the JUMBO TRON...I looked pretty good in my 5 sizes too big shirt...
...and here I am doing a little dance for the camera...I know you are all thinking "Wow! She is SEXY!" (and notice the face AGAIN!...I really gotta work on that...)

And last of all, but certainly not least, here we are with our with our pal Jerry! We were a little scared to ask him for a pic or anything because you know how Jerry can be, but he came right over to us and was so nice we just couldn't pass up the chance to have our picture taken with JERRY SLOAN!!!!

All in all, it was probably the best night EVER...minus them losing, of course! WE LOVE OUR JAZZ!

Monkey Love!

I stole this picture from Ho because she is a better parent than me and captured the moment. This is how Mae sleeps all the time, seriously ALL the time. She shoves a hand, foot, or tail of her monkey in her mouth and falls asleep. I have to keep constantly washing it because it gets all crusty and gross. I am getting a little worried about what we are going to do when this one wears out, or we lose it, as they don't make them anymore (why do they do that?!!! Don't they know kids become attached to certain toys and parents NEED them?!!!). I have found one UNUSED one on ebay (I will not buy a used one for my daughter to suck on), but it is $25, when it originally sold for about $5...what a rip off! I guess I will have to bite the bullet and pay 5 times what I should have to for my sanity!

Family pictures!

While we were in O-Town, my amazingly talented friend, Lindsay, was kind enough to brave the cold (and boy was it cold) to take some family pictures of us... and they turned out SOOOOOO good! Here are just a few of our favorites! Thanks El....You rock! I will get the originals on a disc for your portfolio for when you become famous!

Look what I did!

Coby has been growing out a full-on beard and mustache this past week (against my wishes), and today after spending what seemed like an eternity in the bathroom, look who emerged! It is my own gross cowboy rapist of a husband! I told him to shave it off right then, but apparently this will be an all day event, because he then informed me that next he plans on shaving it to just a mustache and then a skinny mustache after that, before finally (hopefully) shaving it off! (He even took this pic of himself and then set it as my desktop backtrop to insure that I won't get this picture out of my head!) He is very proud of his accomplishment and made me promise to blog about this...BUT don't worry all you Ogden-ites, he WILL be shaving before we head out there! What a nerd my little hubby is, good thing I love him!
